Eileen Durnil, age 83, of Washington passed away at 6:45 AM on Sunday at her residence. She was born on April 5, 1927 in Washington to Urban Felix and Catherine H. (Morrison) Mangin. She was a 1945 graduate of Washington Catholic High School, and was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Our Lady of Hope Auxiliary, and Beta Sigma Phi Xi Omega Sorority where she was a past president. She had worked for Indiana Bell Telephone as a telephone operator and also had worked with her husband at State Farm Insurance as a customer service representative. She is survived by two sons and three daughters in-law, Jerry and Debbie Durnil of Washington, Michael and Jill Durnil of Vincennes, and Dee Durnil of Washington; eight grandchildren, Jessie Davis, Kaycie Durnil, Christi Pinkston, Kaylee Jo Durnil, Chris Durnil, Jacob Lee Durnil, Caitlin Leigh Durnil, and Jake Durnil; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Laverne Boyd of Washington and Helen Burris of Dayton Beach Florida; and Tina Durnil of Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen Lee Durnil on October 1, 1977, whom she had married on June 26, 1948; one son Steve Durnil on June 11, 2007; and one sister Betty Ann Wood. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
