Edgar E. Watkins, age 73, of Washington, passed away at 8:09 PM on Sunday at Daviess Community Hospital. He was born on January 28, 1943 in Washington to Hubert and Esther (Hawk) Watkins. He was a member of Southwind Wesleyan Church. He retired from Gemtron Corporation in Vincennes as a lineworker. He loved gardening and cutting grass on his John Deere mower. He is survived by son, Preston (Prentice) Watkins of Delaware; daughter, Christina Chestnut of Washington; four grandchildren, Mitchell Watkins of Washington, Samantha Killough of Washington, Sierra Priddy of Jasper and Jarren Higgins of Washington; great grandchild, Milo Priddy of Jasper; sister, Phyllis Gross of Washington, brothers; Denny Watkins of Indianapolis and Richard Watkins of Washington; bestfriend, Wayne Rhoads of Washington He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Philip Watkins and sister, Martha Jane Watkins. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Phil Kessen officiating. Cremation has been scheduled. Visitation will be from 10 AM - 1 PM till service time on Saturday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
