Obituary

Earl T. Seal, age 91, of Washington, passed away at 3:55 PM on Friday at Emerald House. He was born on January 11, 1922 in Washington to Demire and Mary (McGrath) Seal. He was a 1941 graduate of Washington High School. He served in the US Army as a Crew Chief mechanic for the P-47 Thunderbolt. The P-47 planes were used to fly missions over Normandy and throughout Europe during World War II. He received numerous commendations including a Bronze Star Medal. He was retired from UniRoyal Inc. He is survived by three sons and three daughters, Mary Jo (Rich) Smith of Boonville, Jean (Larry) Eschbach of Seneca, South Carolina, Rick (Martha) Seal of Evansville, Patty (Paul) Walker of Villa Hills, Kentucky, Ron seal of Wheatland, and Tom Seal of Loogootee; fifteen grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a son in-law, Jerry Myers of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith (Linne) Seal on May 8, 1993, whom he married on May 10, 1947. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Karen (Seal) Myers; a grandson; a granddaughter; four brothers; and one sister. A public visitation will be from 10 AM to 12 noon on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary. Private funeral services will be held at a later time. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery.
