Obituary

Earl Kline age 90 of Washington passed away Wednesday at 2:53 a.m. at Washington Nursing Center. Born November 12, 1917 in Clay City he was the son of George Washington and Lilla B. (Cooprider) Kline. He was a 1935 graduate of Linton Stockton High School and had worked for N.G. Gilbert Construction of Indiana where he was a superintendent. He was a member of the Washington Masonic Lodge, the ABC bowling league and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers from whom he received a 50 year membership pin. He loved to bowl and received several trophies in bowling. He was also an avid fisherman. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Roy) Burton of Washington and Barbara (Fred) Hartz of LaGrange; one brother Howard Kline of Corydon; one sister Uglenna Livingston of Worthington; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and a son-in-law, William Emmerling of Elizabethtown, Ky. Preceding him in death is his wife, Viola Lavern (Resch) Kline, whom he married October 21, 1939 and she died February 7, 1995 and one daughter, Lynnette Emmerling who died September 22, 2006. Four brothers, Lloyd, Kenneth, Owen, and Glen Kline and one sister, Mattie Colvin are also deceased. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Rev. Bill Mallott officiating. Burial will follow in Sugarland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary with a Masonic Service.
