Dorris E. Burris, age 93, of Washington, passed away at 7:10 am on Wednesday, February 15 at the Villages of Oak Ridge. She was born on July 31, 1923 in Montgomery to Lewis and Martha (Allen) Guy. She was a 1941 graduate of Washington Catholic High School and was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She is survived two sons; Robert L. (Sussie) Burris of Indianapolis, Ray (Cindy) Burris of Odon; three daughters, Carol (Gary) Crow of Washington, Linda Colvin of Bloomington and Lisa Burris of Washington; five grandchildren, Larry Burris, Angela Thompson, Dustin Davis, Cody Craig and Chelsey Burris; four great-grandchildren, Brittany Aurelio, Ashley Brackin, Elizabeth Breckin and Skylar Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Burris on January 13, 1994, whom she married on April 15, 1943 . She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Ursyla Aurelio; seven brothers, Charles, Ernie, Leo, Ross, Joe, George and Jim; sister, Meldred Kane. A private Graveside service was held on Thursday, February 16 at St John Cemetery.
