Doris Neukam, age 85, passed away Thursday, November 27 at 2:10 p.m. at Ketcham Memorial Nursing Center. Born October 4, 1928 to Douglas Newton Byrd and Alice Grace (McElory). She married Clifford Reid Neukam August 6, 1950 and he passed away November 20, 2012. She had previously worked at Williams Brothers, Crane, and was a Homemaker. Doris was a long time member of the White River Valley Antique Association. She had been seriously ill since May 2014. She is survived by two sons; Douglas James Neukam of Odon and Steven Reid (Debbie Wolven) Neukam of Washington; grandchildren, Bevery Myers of Odon, Greg (Stephanie) Neukam of Odon, Katelyn (Charlie) Bennett of Elnora, Allison Neukam-Hooker of Washington, Abbie Neukam of Washington; great-grandchildren, Nathan Steele of Odon, Briannah Myers of Elliottsville, Indica Neukam, Ilana Neukam , Evan Neukam, and Taylor Neukam all of Odon, Jessie Bennett of Elnora and a sister Mary Kathrine "Katy" Byrd Carey of Wheatland. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers; Douglas Newton Byrd, Gerald Mack Byrd and a sister, Wanda Mae Byrd Rasner. Funeral services will be at11:00 am Saturday, December 6 at Ed Lee Mortuary. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens . Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5th and Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Ed Lee Mortuary.
