Diana M. (Phillips) Russell, 69, passed away at her daughter's residence during the evening of September 7, 2024. She was born in Washington on October 23, 1954, to Roland "Pinky" and Rita (Reel) Phillips.
Diana was a homemaker and was known to be a wonderful cook. Her family still fondly recalls their favorite dishes - Mom's homemade macaroni and cheese, and apple pie. She enjoyed taking care of her houseplants and listening to classic rock music. Diana loved crafting and made many beautiful wreaths. She attended Bethany Christian Church.
Those who now mourn Diana's passing include her daughters: Crystal Marshall and Melody (Ayron Miller) Leighty; and son, Willliam D. Allen, all of Washington. Diana was blessed with nine grandchildren: Benton Leighty; Makensie Leighty; Sadie Marshall; Alexa Leighty; Carter Stinchfield; Dante Marshall; Julia Allen; Eleanor Allen; Aubrey Miller, and one great-grandson, Leo Leighty. Additionally, Diana leaves a sister, Ellen (Joe) Schwindt of Washington; and companion, Randolph Gilmore of Washington.
During her lifetime, Diana mourned the loss of her parents, Roland "Pinky" and Rita Phillips; her daughter, Angela Klingle; sisters: Martha Duzan and Marsha Wininger; brothers: Jim Phillips and David Phillips, and an infant brother, Marshall Phillips.
A graveside service for Diana Russell will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the St. John Cemetery in Washington. Pastor Tom Watson will officiate.
