Devan K. Burris, age 17 of Washington, passed away at 2:32 AM on Friday, December 6, 2013, at Daviess Community Hospital. He was born on October 15, 1996 in Vincennes to Tammy (Canary) Burris and Kevin Lawyer. He had attended Washington High School and loved video games and music. He is survived by his mother, Tammy Burris of Washington; his father Kevin Lawyer of Plainville; two half-sisters, Samantha Burris of Colorado and Zoe Rain Nicholson of Washington; three half-brothers, Dylan Burris of Washington, Jared Wayne Lawyer of Vincennes, Jeremy Layer of Illinois; grandfather Everett Canary of Montgomery; and an aunt, Amanda Canary of Montgomery. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Barbara Sue Canary, and grandfather, Phillip Lawyer. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Pete Aldridge and Brad Rainey. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 10 AM till the hour of services on Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
