Derek Matthew Cooper, 27, of West Baden Springs, passed away Tuesday morning in Washington. Born November 30, 1982, he was the son of Anna Cooper and Arthur Wininger. He was a member of the Washington Eagles and the Full Gospel Church. Surviving is a son, Derek Michael Cooper of Washington; his mother, Anna Cooper of West Baden Springs; his father, Arthur Wininger of Martinsville; a brother, Andrew M. Cooper of Washington; his grandmother, Marie Cooper of Washington; and several aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Hilbert Cooper and his grandmother, Barbara Wininger. Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Ed Lee Mortuary. Burial will be private. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
