Danny M. Crosby, 83, of Washington, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Danny was born on June 30, 1942, in Washington, Indiana, to Lora Mae (Fox) and Kelly Crosby. He married the love of his life, Dorothy (Drew) Crosby, on February 19, 1965, and together they shared many years of love, laughter, and family memories.
Danny proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he dedicated more than 30 years of hard work as a coal miner, a career he was proud of and from which he eventually retired.
Danny found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He loved fishing along the river, camping, and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed cooking and was known by family and friends as an excellent cook. Above all else, Danny cherished his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Those who knew Danny will remember his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. He had a playful spirit and never hesitated to act silly just to bring a smile to a child's face. His kindness, laughter, and love for his family created countless memories that will be treasured forever.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Melissa (Ben) Hasenour, Mark (Cindi) Crosby, Toby (Tina) Crosby, and Buster (Stacey) Crosby; his beloved grandchildren, Derek (Maggie) Fowler, Danyelle (Jimmy) Heller, Dalton (Alix) Fowler, Ashley Crosby, Maci (Seth) Briggeman, Matthew Crosby, Destiny (Alex) Law, Brittany (Dakota) Deller, Samantha Crosby (Chase Fuhrman), Jereit Crosby, and Iyivie Crosby; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Lora Mae Fitzgerald and Kelly Crosby; his son, Audie Reeves; his grandson, Patrick Fowler Jr.; and his brothers, Dick, Bill, Bing, and Kenny Crosby.
Though his family grieves his passing, they find comfort in the many happy memories he leaves behind. Danny's laughter, love, and gentle heart will continue to live on in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Ed L. Lee Mortuary. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Brad Rainey officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be performed by the Washington VFW and American Legion in honor of his service to our country.
