Obituary

Dana P. Wood, age 66, of Glendale, passed away at 3:50 AM on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.


He was born on February 23, 1952 in Washington to Robert and Lucille (Ratten) Wood. He had graduated from Washington High School in 1971 and was a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran. He retired as a Tech Sargent after 20 years in the Air National Guard, during which time he was deployed for Operation Enduring Freedom to Oman. He had worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 48 years and 10 months and was a member of the Washington Eagles and the Washington American Legion. Dana enjoyed canoeing, camping, walking and spending time outdoors.


He is survived by his wife, Linda (Raney) Wood, whom he married June 10, 1984; two sons, Sean Wood (Lilliana Miller) of Vincennes and Ryan Wood of Loogootee; brothers, Dennis Wood of Clay City, Mike Wood of Seymour and Jim Wood of Plainfield; three sisters, Cecilla Lindauer of St Henry, Kathy Blint and Kristy Wood both of Fort Madison, Iowa.


He was preceded in death by parents and sister, Roberta Wood.


A time of sharing will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Military rites being held by the Washington American Legion and VFW at 7:45 PM. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
