Charlene McCord

Charlene McCord, 84, of Washington went to her heavenly home Thursday, October 24, 2024. She was married to her late husband (Louis) "Nile" McCord for fifty-six years. She is survived by her three sons, David McCord, Doug McCord, and Chris McCord, and her seven grandchildren.

While she devoted much of her life to raising her children, Charlene worked as a lunch cashier at Washington Jr./Sr. High for several years. She also supported her husband's appliance repair business.

Charlene was a member of Veale Creek Baptist Church, and was active with children's ministry there. She often taught Sunday School classes, Vacation Bible School, and Jesus and Me (JAM) sessions for the kids.
Charlene is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gordon McCracken of Mobile, Alabama (originally from Washington, IN).

Per Charlene's wishes, no funeral or memorial services are planned. A private burial will occur later at New Veale Creek Cemetery.
