Obituary for Carolyn J. McDonald

Carolyn J. McDonald  passed  away Sunday, March 31, 2019, at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

She was born July 8, 1947, in Washington, Indiana, to Carl and Mildred (Lents) Overton. Carolyn married Kenneth E. McDonald on February 24, 1968. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughter Cynthia McDonald of  Princeton, Indiana; brother Gary (Donna) Overton of  Washington; and nieces Rachael Teel, Marsha Matteson and Lisa Demontagac.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother David Overton; a sister Judith VanWagoner; and nephews Douglas and Richard Arthur.

Carolyn graduated from Washington High School in 1965 and retired after 23 years from the U.S. Postal Service, Evansville, Indiana. She had previously worked at American Real Estate, Princeton, Indiana; Sears, Roebuck, Washington, Indiana and the Washington Credit Bureau.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday and  Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m . at the Ed Lee Mortuary Downtown Chapel with Yvonne  Evans. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Corning, Indiana.

The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
