Carl N. Moyes, age 85 of Washington, passed away on Monday at Washington Nursing Center. He was born on May 15, 1924 in Knox County to Peter and Jennie Loretta ( Mull)Moyes. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and retired from UniRoyal in 1973. He was a member of the Washington Eagles. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and going mushroom hunting. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Miller) Moyes whom he married on October 25, 1942; one daughter and son in-law, Jennifer and Thomas Underwood of Washington; two sons and daughters in-law, Nelson and Patti Moyes of Brookville, Florida, and Troy and Karen Moyes of Washington; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Cleora Obermeyer; four brothers, Willis Moyes, Ellsworth Moyes, Harold Moyes, and Robert Moyes; and one great grandson. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Bro Phil Kessen officiating. Burial will follow in New Veale Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
