Billy Joe Halbert age 74 of Washington passed away on Thursday at 6:00 AM at Washington Nursing Center. He was born on November 15, 1932 in Washington to the late Ed and Thelma (Belcher) Halbert. He Attended Washington High School. Surviving are his wife, Barbara (Smith) Halbert whom he Married in August of 1951; two daughters, Gay Martin of Washington and Billie Sue Kramer of Leesburg, Ga.; two sons Rick Halbert of Washington and Rusty Halbert of Washington; three sisters Beverly Howard of Richmond, Lois Miller of Bicknell, and Brenda Morgan of New Albany; Two Brothers, John Halbert of Washington and Don Halbert of Washington; six grandchildren, Chris Martin of Chicago, Darrell Halbert of Dubois, Matthew Kramer of Leesburg, Ga., Amy Poole of Albany, Ga., Angie Kramer of Albany, Ga., and Samuel Halbert of Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 PM at Ed Lee Mortuary with Rev Jim Williams officiating. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery.
