Obituary

Billie Robert Stader age 78 of Washington passed away on Tuesday at 1:50 pm at his residence. He was born on October 5-1928 in Lawrence County, Illinois to the late Herschel and Jeannette (Evans) Stader. He married Joan McGee on December 21-1957 and she survives. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He had been a IGA Grocery Store manger in Bloomfield and Washington. He was a member of the Washington American Legion, VFW, and the Eagles. He was passed commander of the Bloomfield American Legion Post 196. He was a member of the Washington First Christian Church were he had served as a deacon and elder, and also was a member of the Kum Double Class. Surviving is his wife; one son, John Michael Stader of Lake Worth, Florida; one daughter and son in-law,Susan and Paul Myers of Sullivan, In.; one brother Herschel Stader Jr. of Washington; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Helen Marie Stader and one daughter in-law, Kimberly Stader. Graveside Services will be held 11:00 AM on Friday at Scotland Cemetery in Scotland, Indiana with Pastor Michael Luke officiating and full military graveside rite will be conducted by the Washington American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM at the Ed Lee Mortuary in Washington . Memorial Donation my be sent to the Helping Hearts Hospice or the Washington First Christian Church.
