Obituary

Billie Jo (Thompson) Hollander, age 77, of Cannelburg, passed away at home surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, April 3, 2018.


She was born on October 28, 1940 in Washington to William and Helen (Wilson) Thompson. She attended Alfordsville School. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Wide Awake Homemakers Club and a Daviess County 4-H Leader. She enjoyed gardening and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.


She is survived by her children, Debra (John Pat) Hart and Karen (Richard) Dye, both of Cannelburg; grandchildren, Alisa (Stephen) Sargent of San Antonio, Texas, Anthony (Liz) Hart of Newport, Kentucky; brother, Michael (Beverly) Thompson of Loogootee; two great-grandchildren, James Hart and Ellie Hart; and many nieces and nephews.


She is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony "Tony" Hollander on August 16, 2015, whom she married, March 15, 1958; daughter, Toni Kay Hollander; parents, William and Helen Thompson; sister, Gail Graber


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday at St Martin Catholic Church in Whitfield with Father James Koressel as celebrant. Burial to follow in St. Martin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday at All Saints Catholic Church in Cannelburg.
