Bettye Jo Duer, 84, of Washington, passed at 6:45 PM on Tuesday, April 29, at Washington Nursing Center. She was born in Spurgeon on May 23, 1929 to George and Nola (Garrett) Fowler. She was married to Leo Duer in December of 1954 and had three children; Leo Duer III, Sheila (Randy) Morris, both of Washington, Kathy (Neil) Bradford of Charleston, Illinois and two step-children, Larry Bly of California and Rande Bly of Alabama; grand-children, Karrie (Chad) Craney and Craig Wilson, both of Washington; step-grandchildren Paul Bly of California, Richard and Ryan Bly of Alabama; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Craney, Logan Craney, and Brock Craney. She is survived by her sister Joyce Heard (Roger) and brother Rick Fowler (Linda), both of Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her husband Leo Duer II on July 6, 2008; brothers, Donald Fowler, Gordon Fowler, Robert Fowler; Parents George and Nola (Garrett) Fowler and step-mother Thelma Fowler. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 6:00 PM at Ed Lee Mortuary with Yvonne Evans officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
