Betty Jo Zinkan, age 81, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 4:17 p.m.

She was born on July 27, 1937 in Washington to James Walter and Elizabeth (Hughey) Ford. She graduated from Washington Catholic High School in 1955. She had worked for Hillies restaurant and loved puzzles, cards and bingo. She loved spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Alan (Laura) Zinkan of Franklin, Indiana and Carl (Laurie) Richard Zinkan of Chicago, Illinois; six grandchildren, Shannon Zinkan, Haley Zinkan, Ian Zinkan, Gregory Zinkan, Steven Zinkan and Thomas Zinkan; great granddaughter, Kaia Zinkan.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Robert Ford, Richard Wayne Ford, Francis Ford and Carl E. Ford; sisters, Mary Louise Ford, Elnora Dora Hooten and Marjorie L. Doyle.

A funeral service will be held at Ed Lee Mortuary Downtown Chapel, 101 North Meridian Street, Washington, Indiana 47501 on Thursday, August 2 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
