Betty Ruth Vandever, age 83, of Indianapolis died August 26 in Indianapolis. She was a quick witted loving mother and Grandmother. Her memory will be forever stitched and crocheted into our hearts. She is survived by a son, Garry Vandever of Indianapolis; 3 granddaughters, Shelby and Tiffany Vandever both of Indianapolis, and Heather Marquez (Vandever) of Greenwood; 4 great-grandchildren, Brian, Maria,Tory Jr and Gabby; one brother, Ray "June" King Jr. of Indianapolis; and one sister, Norma "Jean" Foster of Washington. She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Vandever, whom she married March 27, 1943. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oak Grove Cemetery with Yvonne Evans officiating.
