Obituary

Betty J. Lewis, 79, passed away at her residence in Loogootee on October 27, 2017.  She was born in Petersburg on February 20, 1938 to Victor and Thelma (Stubblefield) Bradfield.
She graduated from Petersburg High School in 1956 and Vincennes University School of Nursing in 1973 as a LPN. She had been employed as a nurse for Prairie Village in Washington and was a member of the Poplar Grove Wesleyan Church in Shoals. She was an avid reader, sponsor of the Wounded Warrior Project and also the Disabled Veterans.
She is survived by three sons, Steven (Tina) Cato of Loogootee, Donnie Cato, Sr. (Brenda Stone) of Evansville and Jeremy M. (Brittany) Lewis of Evansville; five grandchildren, Donnie Cato, Jr., Cynthia Lynn Loveman, Brittney Leah Cato, Donnie D. Cato and Kole Matthew Lewis; twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Francis Lewis on February 27, 1986, whom she married December 16, 1978; sister, Evelyn Dillon.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Rev. James Downs officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
