Barbara Mattingly, 71, passed away peacefully at her Washington residence with her husband by her side, May 17, 2022. She was born in Evansville on September 20, 1950, to Charlie and Ruth (Titzer) Holtz. On June 4, 2013, she married Ronnie Charles Mattingly and he survives.
Barbara was formerly employed at Walmart where she worked in the Deli. She was an avid reader and loved cats. Barbara was devoted to her family, her faith and her church, Our Lady of Hope.
Those who now mourn Barbara's passing include her husband, Ronnie Charles Mattingly; her daughter, Jennifer (Kirk) Phariss of Grayslake, Illinois; and her two grandsons, Ryan and Sam Phariss. Coming from a large family, Barbara leaves eight siblings: Dona (Lenny) Reinhart; Cindy (Dave) Sabel; Tricia Lee, all of Evansville; and Charlene (Jim) Brown of Oakland City; Mark (Debbie) Holtz; Joe (Julie) Holtz; Tim (Jossie) Holtz; and Brian (Julie) Holtz, all of Evansville.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ruth Holtz.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers and other gifts, contributions be made in Barbara's memory to the American Diabetes Association. PO Box 7023, Merrifield, Virginia 22116-7023.
Visitation for Barbara Mattingly will be 4:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, North Chapel, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be given at 10:30 am, Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Father Paul Ferguson will be the celebrant.
Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery.
