Barbara K. Gilmore, 68, Washington, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022. She was born January 1, 1954 in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Carl, Sr. and Betty (Moffett) Burton.

Barbara worked for Perdue Farms and retired from there on July 26, 2016. She enjoyed being outdoors, planting her tomato plants, word searches, puzzles, bingo, and doing activities at Senior and Family Services. Barbara loved spending time with her family and friends, and going to church.

She is survived by her children: Doreena (Steve) Bateman and Michael Gilmore Jr.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her siblings, Connie (John) Schutter of Washington, Terry (Dotty) Burton of Washington, Vonda (Randy) Miller of Bicknell, Carl Burton, Jr. of Washington, and Tony (Tammy) Burton of Plainville.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Sonda Shake

Visitation for Barbara Gilmore will be 10:00 am-1:00 pm, Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, North Chapel, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, immediately following the visitation, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, North Chapel. Pastor Jewel Gilly will officiate. Burial will be in the Sugarland Memory Gardens.
