Amy Ruth Carr, 51, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
Born on October 2, 1974, in Washington, Indiana, Amy was the cherished daughter of Sandra (Williams) Collins and the late Steven Collins. A graduate of North Daviess High School, she continued her education at Vincennes University, where she earned her Associate's Degree and fulfilled her dream of becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse.
For more than 30 years, Amy dedicated her life to caring for others through healthcare, including over 20 years as an LPN. Nursing was more than a profession to her—it was a calling. She possessed a compassionate heart and a gentle spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer comfort to those in need. Her kindness and dedication touched the lives of countless patients, coworkers, and friends throughout the years.
Though naturally quiet, Amy's loving heart spoke volumes. She had a playful, silly side that brought smiles to those who knew her best, and she treasured the moments spent laughing with her family. Above all else, she adored her grandchildren, who brought endless joy and light into her life. She also found happiness in caring for her beloved cats, nurturing her plants, casting a fishing line on peaceful days, and making memories at concerts with those she loved.
Amy will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Sandra Collins; her devoted children, Lacey Carr (Keith Mayo), Megan Carr, Alexandra Carr, and Nathan Carr; her precious grandchildren, Jacob and Jaxon Cardinal; her brother, Joshua (Melanie) Collins; her sister, Leigh Ann Collins; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were blessed by her kindness.
She was preceded in death by her father, Steven Collins.
Amy's quiet strength, compassionate heart, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Although her absence leaves an immeasurable emptiness, the memories she created, the kindness she shared, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Ed L. Lee Mortuary. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Derrick Crews officiating.
