Obituary

Amanda Sue John, 50, went to her heavenly home on May 27, 2026. She was born on April 21, 1976, to Alan and Linda (Davis) Hudson.

Amanda married the love of her life, Darrin John, on November 20, 1999, and together they built a life centered around faith, family, and unconditional love. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud granny whose greatest joy in life was caring for the people she loved.

Amanda worked for several years at Jeff Norris Law Office and Sterling & Company P.C. She was also an active member of Pike County Center for Women’s Ministries and attended Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church. She found great purpose in helping others and was known for her compassionate heart and gentle spirit.

Amanda was the kind of person who made everyone feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. She always put her family first and gave so much of herself to others without ever expecting anything in return. Whether through a kind word, a warm hug, or simply being present when someone needed her, Amanda had a special gift for making people feel at home.

Her grandchildren were the absolute light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She enjoyed reading, volunteering at the women’s center, and making precious memories with her family. To those who knew her best, she was the best mother, wife, aunt, and the absolute best granny anyone could ask for.

Those left to cherish Amanda’s memory include her loving husband, Darrin John; her father, Alan Hudson; her brother, Christopher Hudson; and her children, Kiendra John (Jason Steffy), Darrin John Jr. “DJ” (Julie Smith), and Cheyenne (John) Burkart (Corey Burkart). She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Carter, Hayden, Emma, Anakin, Kallie, Maddie, Lainey, Khloe, Kaya, Declan, and Sydni, along with many extended family members and dear friends who loved her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda (Davis) Hudson, and her grandparents, Junior D. and Bernice (Bateman) Davis.

Amanda’s love, strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her. Her beautiful spirit and the love she shared so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Ed L. Lee Mortuary. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Tuffy of Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pike County Women’s Center, 338 N. St. Rd. 61, Winslow, IN 47598.
